Bio
Adi Halfin is an award winning director and screenwriter.
She is a graduate cum laude of the Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem, where she directed three shorts, which have been screened in over 70 film festivals including Cannes and Berlinale, and have won significant international prizes.
In addition to directing, Adi teaches production and directing in film schools, and tours the world with her unique dance-film workshop called “Dancing with the camera”.
“HOME ALONE”, a promo she directed for Batsheva Dance Company was a viral hit and has won best short in the San Francisco Dance Film Festival (2014), in Korea’s SESIFF festival (2014) and in Shortwaves film festival in Poland. This video has gained a life of its own and is discovering the planet through film festivals till today.
The 15 second clip she directed for Mark Ronson’s “Daffodils” (feat. Kevin Parker) won the Genero TV contest and was chosen as one of the top three videos by Mr. Ronson.
Adi currently divides her time between Tel-Aviv and Berlin, where she directs music videos and commercials and is writing her first feature film.
Coming from a background of art and music, Adi loves to challenge the borders of filmmaking and get involved in as many art disciplines as possible – be it dance, fashion or fine arts. Music and dance are her biggest passions and she strives to showcase this passion in every part of the well thought aesthetic details of her expressive works.
