Janek Lowe

Janek is a director and producer based in Toronto, Canada.

Since 2014 he’s made over 80 broadcast and digital campaigns for RBC, General Mills, Toyota, Manulife, Hyundai, Ford Motor Company and numerous others. His work has earned more than 20 international advertising honours and awards including CASSIES, ADCC, Bessies, CMA Awards and short lists for the prestigious Cannes Lion and CLIO.

One of Janek’s career high-points was hearing laughter from down a street to his breakout Molson Canadian commercial featuring Canadians singing their national anthem to a beer fridge. That 2014 campaign received media coverage worldwide.

When not directing commercials, he’s developing several film and TV projects including an animated kids series with Nerdist Industries/Legendary.

Janek started working in the industry in high school and climbed to eventually become a development executive on projects such as the 2010 award-winning TV mini-series ACROSS THE RIVER TO MOTOR CITY. He then explored a new way to tell stories as a photojournalist for the Winnipeg Free Press and the Waterloo Region Record among various freelance assignments. This background lead Janek to become Photo Editor of Canadian Cinematographer magazine in 2020.
