Santi Elias

Born on December 18, 1975 in Buenos Aires Argentina.

When he was 7 years old, his grandfather, a plane pilot, gave him his first Super 8 camera and since then he always had a camera under his arm filming everything around him.

As early as adolescence, influenced by the Super VHS and linear editing, he shoot and edited in a corner of his house all kinds of videos.

In high school joins the Symphonic Orchestra, playing doublebass and began studying music in parallel at the School of Music in Buenos Aires.

At 15, he finds an old Canon AE1 and starts photo processing  experiments in a black & white develop lab in the bathroom of his home.

Then he entered the Film University conducting studies such as Cinematography and Film Direction.

Experimental short films, video art, different trips, paragliding, rock bands, photos, are the works he carried out as he advance his studies of filmmaking and music.

In 1997 Santi starts working at a production company making all kinds of activities. From camera assistant, editor, grip, to file U-Matic video archiver on a big basement.

After venturing into several television series, where he began his career as director´s assistant and second unit director with a 16mm Bolex camera, in 2003 he starts working in Landia as  director ´s assistant.

Maturing his career as Assistant Director during 2006 and 2008 he works for Pioneer Productions attending international directors as Nicolai Fuglsig , Frank Budgen, Traktor, Dante Ariola, Peter Thwaits, Sid & Ad, among others.

In July 2008, begins directing, making commercials for La Comunidad, MTV, JWT, Kepel & Mata, McCann, Ogilvy, Young & Rubicam, Madre Buenos Aires, Don Bue among others,  looking for new production techniques and making alternative business for the media.

In 2011 he joined the staff of directors at Primo,  where he began to explore new markets in Brazil, USA and Europe.
